9300-8i, 9311-8i, 9341-8i, etc.

Anyone have one they are willing to offload or have a good deal stashed?

Wonder if one of those cheap 9340-8i's that I had would work, I sold it as I thought it was gonna be a PITA to run in a 2U but I could have probably just put a good bend on the 8644 to 8087 cable at the minisas-hd end that connects to HBA top facing ports on that 9341. I think those ports were lower than say a M1015/9210-8i/H200 which seems to be problematic in a 2U visually anyways. Kinda kicking myself in the arse now that that deal seems to be gone and I sold mine here LOL.

Now I got 4x 12Gbps HGST ssd's otw, I'd sure hate to cripple them w/ a SAS2 HBA...always something!

I'll throw it in a Sc216 and take pics, I have the sideways ones... they only work in specific locations or with very few AOC installed due to how close they are next to each other. In a Sc216 with non-expander backplate where you'd want 3 HBAs and possibly a NIC or 2 it wouldn't really work is my thought.

I didn't think abt that but you are right and you KNOW I got 3 HBA's and a MLX CX3 HCA stuffed in there...I am thinking w/ vertical facing ports and regular cable w/ bend I can get it to work but a back-facing ports like the ones you see on a 9300-8i, 9311-8i, or 9341-8i would be far more ideal.

@whitey -- for future ref - Not sure if you explored kalleyOMalley / OEM XS on ebay. They typically have Intel OEM BNIB cables. Search for AXXCBL. As y0u may be aware, they list riduculously high prices on all their listings but accept very low prices. typically $10 - $12 for a set of two + shipping which is the deal killer. Last year while I was building the E5-2670 unit, I ordered different combinations & lengths so I could combine shipping.

The nomenclature is pretty self explanatory if you have not already figured out.

AXXCBL<Length in mm><End1><End2>
Ends:
MS - Mini SAS (8087)
MR - Mini SAS (8087), Right angle
HD - 8643
HR - 8643, Right Angle

Here is an example listing HR-HD
Intel AXXCBL1UHRHD Cable kit, New Bulk Packaging

Hope this was not TL;DR
;)

Yeah I am familiar w/ kalleyomalley, only thing that drives me nucking futs is the generic listing/box pictures and the effort to hunt 'some' of their stuff down unless you just KNOW what it is, I think I got a res2sv240 sas expander off of them for some ridiculous low price back in the day and I know a ton of peeps score intel gear from them on the cheap all the time so thx for heads up.
