and note how similar it is, except for not using PMs. Maybe your friend does have every random part people are looking for. It smells like a scam, especially for a brand new user.

There are a ton of chinese sellers (who use the same phoros) or oem versions from hp(e), dell or cisco

Most of them are from Chinese sellers which I would prefer to avoid.
Of the remaining sellers, most are selling new drives at a premium or Dell/Cisco branded.
I purchased some from seller egoods.supply and they all had significant physical damage and one was sticky so I had to return those.

The Dell branded are fine. You can use the Intel/Solidigm firmware tool on them.

I have purchased a couple from Chinese sellers, though, and they seem to be the real deal.
