Hi!

I'm in Europe and buying for a lab being built for my US employer. Unfortunately VAT registration is not going as fast as it should and we want to double-hit our wallets with both VAT (which we should be refunded but I dont see this happening) and USD->EUR exchange. US based sellers more than welcome, but PM me first.

This is what we are looking for:
  1. Intel DC3700/3710/35xx SSDs (suggestions welcome but we need fast write speeds as these will be used to host VM guests and potentially some of their data plus snapshots to be backed up). 400-800G.
  2. NVMe SSDs MLC-based, for LVM-Cache/SLOG/ZIL. Or suitable high performance options. 200-800G.
  3. 8 RDIMMs 1800MHz DDR3 of 32G each. Verified with memtest is a must.
  4. HBAs: M5015 or LSI branded HBA for PCIe2, but prefer PCIe 3 HBAs for IT mode.
  5. LSI 9840 or similar with 4e4i/8e8i and also pure 8e and 8i cards, 1G cache and up.
That's about it. Got two backplanes of 4 disks each to fill plus a SA120.

Thanks!

If you are looking to buy used you will see much better prices on the US market than EU.

For the RAM are you looking for 1600Mhz or 1866Mhz? I don't think 1800Mhz is a standard.

Would 16x16GB work in your setup, or do you only have 8 DIMM slots available?

1866Mhz, the MB is a Z9PED-WS so only 8 slots:

8 x DIMM, Max. 64GB, DDR3 2133(O.C.)/2000(O.C.)/1866*/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory **
Quad Channel Memory Architecture
*For Registered Memory, Max. 256GB DDR3 1866/1600/1333/1066/800 MHz
I will edit the original post to fix the typo, it was late at night and did it on my phone.

I got some LSI 9300-8i cards, Intel 750 NVME drive with M.2 to U.2 cable.
I'm interested on the cards :)
Just got a good offer for an Intel P3500, though I'm trying to see if it can be shipped outside of the eBay GS program. They overcharge the import duties like hell.
