Hi All,

I'm looking for a rather special socket 1150 motherboard.

Must have the following base requirements:
Support for Gen 2 haswell (4790 chip)
4x ddr3 memory slots (must work with non ecc!)
VT-D support
2x Pci-e 8x (or 16) - 3.0 or 2.0 doesn't matter
1x Pci-e 1x or above - 3.0 or 2.0 doesn't matter
2-4 Sata (3.0 ideally, 2.0 is ok)
MATX formfactor
VGA graphics output for the integrated graphics

More of the above is good, but not necessary

Nice to have:
ESXi known working with it

Ideally low priced (note I am in Australia, so shipping costs will apply to stuff from overseas)

Thanks
K

Anything Z97 was made for the haswell refresh... and given you wan't non-ecc desktop board might be easier than server.
Good choice on haswell, as vga is deprecated for skylake... but why vga? KVM?

The asus B85M-E/CSM seems to be the only one that matches vga and slot requirements.
It will require a bios update to work with the 4790k, as for VT-D that is a cpu thing, not a chipset, however the UEFI could mess with it.
That is an asus support question.

If you weren't set on that pcie 1x, you would have more options...

Asrock have decent vt-d support. Note the chip is not the k version

Vga is primarily because it makes it easier to find a spare cable when I pull the box apart

same story, only the 9x series would have out of box support. Still need bios update for devils canyon.
Asrock and asus have decent relations but I would say asrock has better support.

This is an Asus board, vt-d is not given.
