They keep auctioning 847A chassis. As you may be aware, 846A & 826A can unofficially handle SAS3. Some of those auctions sold near the starting price ~160+shipping for the entire chassis

thanks for that (i forgot about them!). I actually know who you are talking about and bought a server from them about 4 months ago (all good experience). and i agree, they have been listing some excellent SM deals over past 6mo or so. Thanks.
btw- you right this is STH, in line with that - ive been sending out bids for entire 4u 24 bay systems that come with the sas2 el1 (mainly to get that BP out of it), as often its not THAT much more than whats currently avialbul on ebay for just a sas2 el1 alone
