Hi,

I am looking to buy 6, or maybe 8, NVMe drives for cache drives on a 4 node cluster.

I currently have 2 x SM961 256GB drives that I could re-task and I also have 2 x 256GB MyDigital NVMe drives that I could also re-task to add to the 6 new ones I am looking to buy.

Speed is more important than size as I have 12 x 480GB Samsung SSD's for the hot tier.

Generally the workload will not be IO intensive and throughput at a lower Q depth is more important than at higher.

Honestly, I am a bit all over the map on this but at this point I think I will likely get 6 more of either the SM961's or of the MyDigital NVMe. I have a bit of a hate for the new TLC drives with the SLC like buffer.

Thanks.

I have BNIB 960 EVO/Pro's from 500gb -> 2tb. Any idea of what size/price point you're looking for? Feel free to PM me.

The 256GB SM961's seem to be tracking at ~$160USD and its a bit rich for my blood with 6 of them. My wife told me I have spent about $25k on computers...

I was hoping for some used 950 Pro's or something along those lines. Unfortunately the used enterprise version does not come small enough to be affordable to me.

So 256gbs? Yah I don't buy that size unfortunately. Closest I could come is 500gb 960 EVO's for $225 each. I only have 4 of those at the moment. 512gb 960 Pro's I could do for $290 each, 4 of those as well.
