Looking for a 4-Bay (6 or 8 if the price is right) diskless NAS that can handle gigabit reads/writes to disks in RAID10. Use case is just a dummy array for dumping off-site VM snapshots, nothing more.

I have a used Synology DiskStation DS2411+ 12-Bay NAS in great condition that I could part with if the price is right. I know it's bigger than you wanted but just wanted to throw it out there. PM me with a fair price if you are interested.

Thanks for the offer. Just way more than what I need or have space/drives for.

I have HP Microserver G8 with Celeron processor. Diskless with basic Celeron and 2 gigs of ram.
Can be upgraded with E3-1230v2 and 16Gb and run ESXi if you decide to.

Thanks guys. Really looking to keep this as physically small as possible for housing 4 disks.

I have a G3220/16GB ECC/E3C224d2i/Seasonic 330 Gold/Node 304 build that I'm getting ready to sell for $300 shipped. I still need to source hard drive screws for it though.

I'd say HP Microserver is a good play, used them before and they work well. Might have one or two laying around. PM if interested for a cheap price.
