Hello,

I'm looking for 4-5U GPU server with space for atleast 4 PCIe dual-slot GPUs based on AMD EPYC.
Something like ASUS ESC8000A-E11 would be ideal.
I might be able to find chassis/motherboard so also looking for AMD EPYC CPUs and DDR4 RAM.
Thanks!

I have a gigabyte g292-z20 that I'm thinking about selling (or upgrading); shoot me a message if you're interested.

That's only 2U so I think you only can fit 2-slot GPUs but a lot of gaming GPU's are like 2.9 or even bigger so most likely they won't fit there right?

You can still fit 4 bigger ones in theory, it has 4 Risers like this one ; ideally you'd use dual slot (and not wider) gpus and then get capacity for the full 8 slots, but you should be able to fit 4 wider ones. also there is a lot of airflow across the gpu bays; so potentially remove the fans and "gaming shroud" / plastic and make your gaming GPUs slimmer.

Nothing beats the Gigabyte G292 in terms of density. It really is an 8 GPU server in 2U. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that each riser has x16 lanes to the CPU, and there's a PCIe Gen 4 switch chip on each riser. If you're running AI inference workloads, it won't matter at all. But if you want to do some training, it will be slower than if each GPU had a full x16 link to the CPU.

Bware G292 doesn't support cards with 12vhpwr, only 2x8pin, and only cards with the power socket on the end of the card instead of the top. There is no room for an adapter.

Gaming GPUs require you to cut holes into the chassis.

With workstation cards you also need to reverse the front fan direction on the left/right gpu fans or you'll cook the cards.

You can use 12vhpwr cards if you build a custom power cable though.
