Bought a 4 bay 2.5" drive bay and would love to populate it with 2TB or 4TB 2.5" drives. The unit supports 15mm size hard drives. I believe I can do SAS or SATA with the unit but let's go with SATA for now.

Anyone have a bunch of these drives lying around unused?

Are you in the states? I took Patrick's advice and gutted 5x External Seagate 4TB 2.5" HDDs that I bought from Costco for $120/ea. Now I wished I had gotten a few more.

Do we have a model number on those 4TB Seagates?
Newegg has 2 versions
STEA4000400 ($116.95)
and
STDR4000100 ($109.99 AC)

I be interested in gutting some as well. My concern is few in the past I have opened have been soldered on USB.

I know the WD 2.5" drives have soldered on USB, the 2.5" 4TB Seagates have been regular SATA drives (I have 8 of them running right now)

The packaging I have says STDR4000602. The sale on the Seagate external 3TB that just ended was $90/ea.

Which coupon code are you using to get the price down?

Yeah  I suppose you have to read between the lines. So Churchill's WTB thread turned into PrivateColo's FS thread?? @PrivateColo, so, what is your asking price for these available 4TB HDDs??
