Workstation with RTX for gaming and A4500 for AI reasonable or likely to have issues ?.

Hi All,

After a little advice.

I have a RTX-4070Ti in my PC for gaming and have purchased a A4500 for doing some AI learning.

Originally the A4500 was to go in a 2U server but the thought occurs that it maybe a viable option to have it in my PC along with the RTX 4070Ti and for me to do the AI work on this single machine.

Likely to be using a ASRock W790 WS board so the PCIe lanes would be available for both cards at full PCIe speed.

Mainly looking to use only the A4500 for AI work but if I can use both without Nvidia imposed slowdown due to using the RTX card then that would be a bonus.

Is this likely to be fine or problematic ?. Any known issues of going this way I should consider ?.

Whatever software you'll be using you would need to make sure its using correct gpu; by default i don't think windows gives you any choose ability per application - the application will have to choose the gpu to use.

For most of your ai needs 4070ti should be much faster. 4G vram buffer difference may or may not make much difference.
