Hi,
I picked up a Poweredge R840 GPU ready ($499 Yay!) for my home server which will replace my existing Poweredge R830 running a handful of VM's on Hyper-V. My plan is to move the hard drives from my Poweredge R830 into the Poweredge R840. Since both servers are using a Perc H730 raid card so the drives should move nicely.
The VM's are Generation 2 9.0 Configuration and each VM is using TPM.
My question is, will the VM's work on new bare metal or does some sort of migration need to be performed due to the bare metal hardware change? VM drive location on the physical hard drives will not change.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
VM configuration.
