I have an HP T630 thin client, although it doesn't come with a WiFi card, the specs published on HP's site say that the machine is compatible with the following cards WiFi/Bluetooth combo cards:
- Intel 8260
- Intel 3168

I was wondering whether it is possible to use it with newer cards, such as Intel 9260. Like the models above, it uses an M2 interface (specifically, M.2 2230, M.2 1216), so at first glance there is no reason to think they are not compatible.

Since the T630 uses an AMD CPU, I assume that as long as the WiFi card doesn't use CNVi (which is specific to Intel processors) technology - it should be fine.

1. Can someone confirm this?
2. What criteria should one take into consideration when choosing a card not officially listed by HP as compatible with this thin client?
