Why ethOS over vanilla Linux

what's ethos provide that a vanilla linux install plus the docker zcash container from @Patrick doesn't?

It has some nice features such as the ability to manage clock speeds and monitor the system remotely without much effort.

Getting configurations setup and mining working took some time, but I can see why this is attractive if you have a hundred mining-only rigs.

I've been happy with SimpleMining OS, been using it the past 2 weeks on a new Nvidia setup.

Burn the ISO to USB, boot it, start your pool mining script from their webUI.

Quick and simple to setup (once you learn it), and crazy easy to add and configure new rigs. My Vega / windows setups are a PITA comparatively. I can start a 6 GPU build and have it up and hashing in less than an hour.

I will say though, that I have to have a windows machine around to really do proper BIOS mods. That's nearly impossible on Linux, AFAIK. And Vegas, well, they're Vegas, so W10 it is.
