I would like to find the simplest, smallest and external box that can host an INTEL a2u8x25s3phs kit

This box would have:
  • It's own Power supply
    • To handle the kit + disks + fans
  • Fans for cooling the disks
    • Ideally, located behind the 5.25'' bays
  • a way to start without any motherboard
    • Or if required, it can use such one like CSE-PTJBOD-CB1
  • at least 2x 5.25'' bays (vertically aligned for be able to host the kit)
  • A way to put out the 8x OcuLink cables
  • The smallest possible
    • CBL-SAST-0819 OcuLink cables are just of 65cm, maybe a can find longer ones
Do you have any reference for such things ?

Thanks,
Séb.

Search for AXXCBL<length>CVCR
These are Intel OEM cables. I have seen 800mm. Not sure 1000mm exists. You can check intel ark to see the various parts. If oemxs / KalleyOmalley has them, you can possibly get a good price. I feel ‘little’ better getting the branded ones at a decent price vs unknown cables. I may have few extra spares. Need to confirm what length(s)

Hey there, did you ever succeed with this idea? I am currently thinking about something similar...
