I'm currently in the process of replacing a E5 2620 V4 that was used primarily for an unraid server.
VM usage today is minimal, but I'd like to keep that avenue open to me in the future. The server mostly serves up media and other MISC Dockers.
My motherboard failed, so I'm using this as an opportunity to upgrade board and cpu.
I think my needs could probably be met with a 7232P, but I'm looking through the SKU list to try to determine if it's worth it for my use case to consider other chips.
The CPU's I've been considering.
7232P $481
7282 $695
7302P $881
The difference between the 7232P and 7302P are well compared at STH, but I it's unclear if the 7282 provides a substantial enough improvement over the 7232P to justify the $200 premium over the 7232P.
Does anyone have any experience/feedback on if the 7282 makes sense?
Thank you for your thoughts.
