Is ZFS Guru 0.1.7 equivalent to FreeNAS 0.7.1 or 0.7.2 or is the numbering a coincidence?

That's just coincidence. FreeNAS 0.7 means it is built on FreeBSD 7.x as far as i know, whereas FreeNAS 0.8 is built on FreeBSD 8.x. My web-releases don't follow that scheme.

Instead ZFSguru uses versioning:
version 0.1.0 - 0.1.9 = test release
version 0.2.0 - 0.2.x = first stable release
version 0.3.0 - 0.3.x = development branch after 0.2.0 releases
version 0.4.0 - 0.4.x = first stable release of the 0.3.x branch

So uneven versions are used for development/testing/unstable branches, while even releases would be stable releases, similar to other open source projects.

I posted on the main site, but ZFSguru 0.1.7 (final) was released yesterday.

Out of curiosity, would it be possible to have new versions tracked via RSS(like some torrent trackers do)? Mostly interested so I can just set my box to watch for new versions and download automatically so I'm always seeding the most current version for the people:)
