1) FreeNAS uses bhyve as it's hypervisor. Windows installs just fine with the usual ovirt drivers.
2) I have some apps that are windows only that I sometimes need to run remotely or keep running while my desktop PC is turned off.
3) sshuttle just runs over ssh, so it's just as secure as your openssh version.
