There also a large number of PM963s for sale around this price. With the PM963 you get PLP.

The problem with (speed) specifications for NVME SSDs is that very few of us have workloads that exploit the parallelism that NVME controllers rely on to achieve such numbers. Hence we should be wary of basing our purchase decisions on them.

I bought a SN750 (1TB) and an Adata SX8200pro (1TB) in Dec'19. [They're said to be at/near the top of the "pro-sumer" tier (but behind the Sam 970 Evo+).] My testing shows the two to perform similarly (+/- 5-10%) except in one very important metric -- 4KB Q1 Random Read.
WD gets 8850/sec ; Adata gets 12990/sec (almost 50% more). [And, a Samsung 860 Evo (500GB,Sata) gets 9000/sec]

"Lies, damn lies ... and benchmarks." :)

There's also the 1TB HP EX950 for $124.99 at Newegg, which might even be a better drive depending on what you're looking for :D

Shows 124.99 for me, what am I missing?

I recently ordered four 8 tb WD drives from WD. They shipped by UPS. UPS is pretty screwed up now. It sat at the UPS hub 10 miles from my house for about 10 days before it was finally delivered. I called WD a few times, and they say they only ship via UPS.

Get ready to wait for your shipment from WD :-(
