The ebay seller listed Western Digital DC SA620 1.6tb, $145 or buyer's offer, and also a starting bid at $125 at another post, shipping is around $10, around $1 for each additional drive:

Spec sheet(The 1.6tb one is 1.8DW/D):

It seems a better deal than the Sandisk cloudspeed 1.7tb that SA620's packaging is a little bit newer even they have the same model number string.

update: The seller raised the starting bid to $145 on the 2nd link. But the 1st link is still $145 or buyer's offer.

What you mean ?
I got a bad vibe after some messages back and forth, that made me doubt the authenticity of the what he was listing. Didn't know anything about the drives and claimed someone "gave them to him".

More importantly his account didn't have recent sales history, and it lines up with a particular pattern where a scammer hijacks an ebay account, changes the payment account, and then lists large quantities of an obscure item. It's very commonplace at the moment, especially with high value PC components.

But since @newabc got his drives that's great, glad I was wrong.

I just got a bad vibe from him with some weird responses to my questions that made me doubt the authenticity of the what he was listing, combined with the fact he didn't really have any other ebay sales history, and didn't really know anything about the drives, and that the prevalence of hijacked ebay accounts are commonplace now - I deal with them constantly.

But since @newabc got his drives that's great, glad I was wrong.
I think the seller's issue may be that he didn't find a correct tool to get the smart info. But we already have some experiences here on the Sandisk Cloudspeed 1.7tb SSDs.

By the way, his packing is not good and the outlooks of the drives' labels are not good(Look like they have a pretty long history).

I asked my wife to shoot in one take video by cellphone when I opened the package.

The seller changed the price to $135 or buyer's offer, the shipping is the same as 1st post.

Not sure if this request belongs here, but seems related to original post to me. ...Does anyone have a good link to the ZR11REA1 firmware for these SA620 SSD? My GoogleFu must be week, SanDisk & Western Digital just refer to ZR11, but no direct .dob download. There was a "ZR11REA1_w_boot_BLR-0080_QR.dob" download I could find, but has the wrong offset (e.g. SandDiskguard firmware update option says

"

"

Any guidance or assistance is much appreciated :).

Hi @abq,

The knowledge about this series SSDs is from the thread discussing the "Sandisk CloudSpeed Eco Gen II 1.7TB", the block size I have tried and later succeeded on the cloudspeed2 1.7tb ssd is 256. You can also download the zip package with all the ZR11 firmwares from the sandisk official page too.

@newabc, I may be google challenged here, and do not want to appear too obtuse, but the sandisk download site is here, http://downloads.sandisk.com/downloads/ess/firmware/cloudspeed2-eco-ultra-releasenotes-zr11.pdf and firmware CloudSpeed Gen. II Eco & Ultra SSD Drive Firmware (ZR11). But the "CloudSpeed Gen. II Eco & Ultra Firmware (ZR11), Size: 2.2MB" link will not work for me.

I can clearly see references to "ZR11REA1" firmware for these particular "Ultrastar DC SA620 1.6TB ", part number "SDLF1CRM-016T-1HA2". ***But no actual link to download, other than broken http://downloads.sandisk.com/downloads/ess/firmware/cloudspeed2-eco-ultra-fw-zr11.zip*** ...I must be missing something, because all search for "ZR11REA1" firmware are circular, and no other link for download.

Can you post the actual working link to "ZR11REA1" firmware? It would be much appreciated by this village idiot;).

BTW, I did find "ZR11REA1_w_boot_BLR-0080_QR.dob" firmware, noting that it is ".dob" type expected by sandiskguard, but the sandiskguard firmware update tool says not right firmware and "bad offset" (see my original post above for exact screen capture). The sandiskguard tool is usually great, but must have correct .dob firmware for my particular SSD (SDLF1CRM-016T-1HA2)!

Any and all guidance or direct links would be much appreciated. ...Yes, I know it appears I am asking to be spoon feed, but spent several hours looking for actual working download link at this point, so must be something I am missing. I have sent comments to sandisk to check on website.

EDIT: I have successfully downloaded "ZR11REA1" firmware! Trying 256 byte trick next, wish me luck (special thanks to @newabc for 256 byte suggestion). Will move this topic to separate thread, and post more if I find anything useful to share.

First of all, sorry for resurrecting a zombie!

Just really curious, @newabc, how have the drives you received worked over the last few months? You mentioned poor packaging and the appearance that they had had a long life already, has any of that reflected in how they have performed?

US $126.00
He has them reposted. The price is pretty good, but the speeds are ho-hum due to sata interface. I'm wondering if a 2tb consumer drive for $160ish has better value for home use

They are still in working without any issue. Yes, the packaging was bad. They just performed as a regular SATA enterprise drive.

I am curious about what the smart info will be even I have enough drives and will not place a new order. After the Chia rush, I will be very serious on the used enterprise drives on ebay which are sold by individuals but not a long history company selling refurbished server gears.

I've messaged and asked for a sample of that info, will let you know if I get a reply.
I'm hoping to get a small mountain of them if the numbers are ok. I'll be using them mostly as write once read many drives, so probably doesn't matter too much as long as they're above 85% or so.

Good to hear that they've not given up on you, gives me hope :)

I think if they could easily get the smart info in March, they would not have chosen such a low price.
