WD_BLACK D10s shuckable?

Hello,

It seems the local Amazon is offering the 12TB D10s for lower $/TB than the $199 14TBs. Seems like a CM deal? Apparently they're supposed to contain HC550s outright and not that crappy white-label binned ones in the Easystores/Elements. Also seems like they have 3 years warranty on them vs the usual 2.

Does anyone have any experience with shucking them?

Seems like a nobrainer upgrade for the backup server.

I shucked these drives. They are indeed HGST drives. Manufacture date for mine were Jul 2020 so it seems like these have been sitting on a shelf for some time. Warranty until May 2024 out of box so they seem to have been placed into the enclosures a year after for some reason.
