Saw these drop on NewEgg down to $209, then NewEgg doing it's Newegg crap, jacked it back up. Then saw they dropped on WD's own website.

These are also CMR, not SMR. :)

(pick the 10TB variant)

Still not back down to the $0.15/GB they once were, but close.

On a side note, it looks like prices are starting to fall from the Chia craze - especially on the used market. I just picked up 5x 10TB SAS for $170ea for a local school. Lots of used drives starting to dump on homelansales.

Nice! Yeah, I have seen those sweet, used 8TB HGST SAS drives drop back down to ~ $85 as well.

Where? that's a good price. :)

I'm seeing 16TB enterprise drives at pretty normal prices too. They're not as cheap as the cheapest they can get, but they're in the same league per TB as the OP's find. :)

Nevermind sorry, I missed the hefty shipping charges, but here are the listings I was referring to: Items for sale by sixelatechsales | eBay

Alternatively, $105 but taking offers: HGST Ultrastar Helium He8 8TB, Internal, 7200 RPM, 3.5" (0F23268) Hard Drive 98377957478 | eBay

Also buybest recently lowered to $110. Personally have had good experiences with them, but note the "92% health" line in the description that some folks here have been calling out: HGST UltraStar SAS 8TB 7200RPM HUH728080AL5200 SAS 12 *Smart Health Tested* | eBay
