I'm trying to get a T640 I got for $250 up and running without breaking the bank. It's my first homelab to learn on so I'm not looking for anything too crazy.
For the CPU, I think anything that is 16+ cores and 3.9+ Ghz boosted would work. I think I listed the cheapest ones that fit that criteria from Xeon Scalable gen 2 / Cascade Lake but I could be wrong. Would potentially buy a matching pair.
If its not too expensive I am also looking for 32gb 2933 ECC RDIMM 2Rx4 sticks. Could maybe do 64gb but prefer 32gb to fill out my channels and stay consistent.
Also looking to buy the top panel/cover for the T640 if anyone happens to have one. If you rack mount the T640, you have to take that panel off so I'm hoping someone has one laying around.
