Would love to find one of these beasts as I want to build a unraid server also looking for hba controller card for hotswap acess please let me know if you have one at decent price cant seem to find on Amazon or ebay and newegg wants 500$ I'm in orange county ca 92869

Consider a RPC-4220? Also have several H310s in IT mode or a few h200e in IT mode, not sure what HBA's you are looking for.

Sure I'm not really sure what's best for unraid would no dout need support for at least 16 drives I have a 9211 8i but no clue how to put it into it mode were abouts are you located ?

I'm in Lima Ohio so I'd be shipping via UPS to Cali. there are 5x backplanes so you'd need either 3x 8-port HBAs or a single HBA with a SAS expander.

i do have a 4224 chassis with the upgraded 120mm fan slots, catch is im in colorado, and i would wonder what the cost of shipping would be.

i have considered chopping/welding it up to make a JBOD unit out of it but im still on the fence

The SAS3 (6gbps) version of this (Supermicro 847) is much more expensive. The Supermicro 846 is only SAS2

What’s wrong with the guy in Alhambra? $350 for a brand new one is unbeatable and you can pick it up same day, he’s less than an hour from you.

Well, that’s a good reason. I would contact him, since the distance is so small, he may be interested in dropping it off for a small fee. He’s had it up on CL for 6 weeks so I’m sure he wants to get rid of it.
