Want to get used case for my new NAS server, how to know..

I decided to go completely without PSU, I don't need 900W PSU. And I don't need noisy one. I'm going to build FreeNAS, power consumption will be very low and 1200W or even 900W will be way overkill. I will either go with new quiet 500W PS from SM (buy separately $$$) or mount regular desktop PS (if it fit's OK which I will check first). My main question is why they don't reply

There is 2 80+ platinums available. I don't know and didn't check if they fit chassis, but they show under "4U" filter so I guess they will.

Ok, seems like deal materialized. I just need to wait for delivery. Getting chassis (846), rails, SAS2 backplane and 1200W GOLD PSU.. $310 delivered. Will be posting in builds section soon

I'm confused, didn't you just say that they said they're out of the stock of the ones with the 1200W PSU? It's nice that they have the SC846 back in stock though, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to purchase another one at a fair price in my life time, lol.

It's interesting that they quoted you 280 for the R900B chassis with SAS2 backplane and rails...they have two auctions for the R900B chassis that are listed for 325 and 345, not sure what the difference is in the listings, and, they both list SAS1 backplane. Make sure you double check the backplane when it comes in.

Yes, I don't know myself, pricing sound good, but not any better than numbers thrown around here. I think best is to go to their website, call the number and talk to them. Obviously this is not eBay sale since I talked to them direct on a phone. Let's see what I get first
