Does anyone have experience with VyOS?

I am toying with the idea of building a 'cheap' 100 GB switch out of 3 EDR cards and a x10dri and wonder whether VyOS would be a suitable OS for that (capable of the required switching speed)... Probably would use 2640v4's as CPU...
I have seen IB is not on VyOS yet but somebody had compiled it in sometime last year

Alternative would be a ring topology abstract with vmware NSX (https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/nsx-to-convert-ring-topology-to-hub-spoke.21774/)

software routing/switching anywhere NEAR 100gbe is not going to happen without some REALLY good implementation of pf_ring/dpdk/etc

In my experience with vyOS you'll see maybe 17 or 18gbps with a 2640 v4

Ouch, that does not really seem worthwhile then :/
Thanks for the warning!
