ok, i bought a DL380 motherboard to investigate this

DL380 Gen10
PXE1610C addresses 62, 64
VRM connector: J226 see picture for pinout)

DL360 Gen10
PXE1610C or TPS53678 (scan first) addresses 62, 64

connect MCP2221a (prepair programming with other PC)
i made a c# console app for automatic programming ( MCP2221a_iccmax_FF ) vrm PXE1610C
install CPU1+2, some memory and power up the board.
1st socket "MCP2221a_iccmax_FF -PXE1610C 62"
2nd socket "MCP2221a_iccmax_FF -PXE1610C 64"
or
1st & 2nd socket "MCP2221a_iccmax_FF -PXE1610C 62 64"

J226

I did that, following the same steps as on the 380 G10 motherboard, but it didn't work.
sorry, my Crystal Ball is broken.
no errors but did not work ?
there is a I2C multplexer around, you may have to wait after powering on ( CPUs installed ?)

Yes, I installed the CPU and it worked on the 380 G10, but the 360 G10 failed

Hello folks. I have a slightly different platform variant. A Dell C6420 sled.

Any fast ideas on where one would find the I2C bus easily exposed? There's lots of pads exposed and even a label J_PMBUS_I2C_BMP_BP near the twin JTAG headers. There's more pads than I know what they go to near the NVRAM CLR jumper and four more near the intenal USB hookup.

Can get photos on demand.

Hi, this sled there is no header pins to mod, you will find two resistors near the pins 8 and 9 on PXE1610C, i moded this sled this way and used Platinum 8272CL, if you can't find the resistors, i share the picture or resistors number here, you need to solder long wires outside the sled or isolate and protect the MCP2221a inside to program. And last, you don't need to power on the sled, only power supply connected.
