nothing there, wrong I2C connection ?.
I re-downloaded your program and now the output is as follows:

I:\bios\HR650X\MCP2221a_VRM_mod(10052024)>MCP2221a_iccmax_FF.exe -scan 20 70
MCP2221a VRM mod utility (build 10.05.2024).

The MCP2221a device is connected.

Hi there . So I have an hp z8 G4 and I'm curious if these mods would also work on this platform to allow use of 210 and 240 watt CPUs . They seem to be cheaper do to it being hard to find boards aside from the Asus sage that can officially run them

they have 4+1 power stages, i can't recommend because they are too weak.

if you mean the ASUS WS SAGE C621E , this board doesn't run high TDC processors out of the box.

I'm willing to test anyway as I can get another board just in case and can do vrm heatsink modding . And ahh that's right forgot they took are limited to 205

again wrong.
all known motherboards with up to 205W TDP support do NOT HAVE ANY TDP Blocker.
only the supermicro 165W variants X11SPM / X11SPL need a modded BIOS to run >165W SKUs at first.
What we do here is apart from TDP. the normal Intel SKUs have a TDC(Thermal design Current / PL4) of 228 Amp.
the OEM Processor you want to run have TDC = 255 Amp. these Processors are helt in reset by CS ME / SPS (PCH firmware)
if the ICC_MAX of the VRM unit is lower than the TDC value.
You can run a 240W Processor on the ASUS SAGE, but this processor must have TDC=228A or lower, there is a B0 ES i.e.
Plat. 8272CL e.g. TDC=255A, TDP=195W - not supported but lower TDP than 205W.

That makes sense . I'm still interested in trying the CPUs .

the route is the goal.
i mean its notimpossible to mod the HP. i have done it with a X11DPL-i (4+1) phase and it worked,
only you have to manage the temps of the power stages, they can 75 Amps @ 25 degree C.
at 70 not more than 50, you see there is no headroom then.

I figured as much . I'll still send a pick if the board so you can point to where i need to go :) if you don't mind I know where the vrns/ phases are and have access to copper and great thermal compound as well as better fans
