I have a VDX6740 that is pretty much useless at this point. I cannot get a console prompt except through the "command shell" if you esc out of autoboot. The switch was taken out of a stack and now all ports stay orange and will not connect. I cannot reattach it to the stack as the stack is not in existence anymore. If I could get to a login prompt I've got the credentials to get in and reset the config but I don't get that from the serial console. I haven't been able to get the OOB management port to come alive either (the network lights up but I again can't get a putty session open to it). I know this stack was setup for in-band management.

Is there anything more I can do? It's a fully licensed switch and I'd like to not lose the licenses installed since I'd have to convince Extreme to want to get them back for me and since I don't have support on this switch I doubt they would since they won't get firmware updates to me.

A last ditch effort would be to do a netinstall (usbboot) but I'd need the bits to do it. If someone was willing to get the NOS code and firmware for me that would be awesome. It's a 6740F, 48-port SFP+ with 4 40Gb stacking ports. It's a nice switch but useless if I can't reconfigure it.

I have the castorXX image files, I think they would have come with NOS6.0.2b. I also have one of the Brocade USB sticks that comes with the switch, but the directories are blank.

I do have an old running config for the switch and found in it that the management port was set to "shutdown" so that's why that doesn't work. :/

Code:
!
interface Management 8/0
 no tcp burstrate
 ip icmp echo-reply
 no ip address dhcp
 ipv6 icmpv6 echo-reply
 no ipv6 address autoconfig
 no ipv6 address dhcp
 vrf forwarding mgmt-vrf
 shutdown
!

Ok, so the most recent firmware/OS installed may not be working correctly on this switch. I know you said something about putting an earlier release on it in another thread. Is there a place that I can download that from?

Got 7.4.0a installed and it seems to be stable now. The only thing I am getting repeatedly now is the following.

Code:
Network OS (sw0)
sw0 console login: admin
