I own a Lenovo Thinkserver TS440 with the E3-1225v3 platform but I have outgrown the 32GB maximum memory limit.

I have started looking at options and I was wondering if anyone has re-used the power supply and TS440 chassis by installing a different motherboard (say Supermicro)?

Does anyone know if its possible?
I am not sure if the motherboard holes are standard that it would allow me to do it or not, also thinking about buying a different power supply as well if I get a supermicro board with dual LGA2011-3 (E5-26xx V3/v4)

Hi Gio,

If you use Lenovo or IBM PSU, you will have to wire up a 14 pin PSU to 20/24 pin MB adapter. There are alot of 24 pin PSU to 14 pin MB adapters on ebay, amazon etc - but no reverse versions. ...Did you ever measure motherboard holes? Or find any compatible motherboard?
