Those disks are on offer for the same price every now and then from him, feedback looks ok.
I have not bought from him, but contacted him previously for a discount on larger orders and it seemed possible. Didn't come to it since the drives where gone before we agreed on the details.

Seller wanted €20 in shipping to Norway - so for me it's probably better to wait for a good US deal with Global Shipping.

With import and shipping it's a litte bit expensive. BUT warranty and guaranteed health can be important for someone.

For me (outside EU) the shipping and tax is the same and no import fees (from Germany probably €20 fees). Global Shipping is a gamechanger for me atleast.

Really? I think the Global Shipping program charges a bit for the service too you should at least check if using something like Jetcarrier could be cheaper. But if expediency is important to you, you may be willing to pay more.
Also wasn't shipping from Germany about the same? You really sure you have to pay extra fees when buying from Germany? That isn't my experience.

Global Shipping is almost always cheaper. No extra charges that I know of, and the shipping is often damned cheap for heavy items. I found another benefit aswell - ebay includes the VAT as part of the purchase prize, so when I got duped on an item the other day, they also have to refund VAT.

German parcels are often sent with DHL. They charge like 175 NOK or so for the customs work. I don't mind paying VAT, but I am tired of paying DHL and UPS.

Problem with Global Shipping is when you purchase items to a VAT-registered company. To get the paperwork needed to reclaim VAT you have to jump through a couple of extra hoops.

I decided to not buy from him. He seems confused about VAT rules.
hello
best way to send stuf to Norway it´s via Post / DHL
If the stuff cames in, you have to go to you local custom office and you pay the Norwegian VAT

i can only cut the 19 % German VAT if i write a invoice to a Norwegian company with a VAT ID number
This is false. You should not pay German VAT regardless if you buy as a company or not. You would end up paying VAT twice then. And I'm not gonna visit my local customs office to sort this out.

And now everything is sold out it seems.

This is exactly what i have had in my mind lately as i've used Global Shipping from the US quite some time for now, but planning to reclaim the VAT on a registered company.
I'd highly appreciate any more info or links about this subject if you have done this before.

I try not to buy from EU auctions. Only exeption is UK - they almost always have a good handle the VAT stuff - my guess is that this is because they do alot of dealings with other parts of GB. Postage is also dirt cheap from UK to NO - not so from most other EU countries. Prices is also almost always high.

Global shipping (if available) or JetCarrier rocks - I do not use anything else anymore from the US,

The main problem with Global Shipping is that even though VAT may be explicitly listed on your invoice (in USD/EUR/GBP etc), you need paperwork from the customs handlers stating the value in NOK. I called the directorate of customs to discuss the issue, but unfortunately they had no solution other than to contact the shipping company and hope for the best. So that's what I did: After my Oculus Rift arrived I called UPS Norway, told them I needed the customs paperwork for my accounts and gave them the tracking number and my email. A day or two later I received an email with a pdf with everything I need, thus saving me ~1650NOK/$200 :)

So the local Norwegian authorities need the VAT we pay for the import of a product specified in NOK to be able to reclaim it? Most of the time my stuff arrive into Posten (Norwegian Postal service). So i need to call them for such i guess.

Anyway thanks for your replay, appreciated!
