For those who are still riding on 802.11ac Wave 2, just caught someone selling AP-325s for $49 + shipping and accepting BO and compared to other Aruba 300+ series on eBay, this looks to be a heck of a deal.

I assume these require a controller and license fees? Seems like a great price though. The instant on APs and switches seem to be pretty good options for the money honestly.

If you're fine with 801.11ac Wave 1 and want something even cheaper, can get an Aerohive AP230 for $25 shipped.

Be warned -- the older AP-325s only have 256MB of RAM (vs 512MB), so newer versions of ArubaOS might choke and/or panic instantly. If you're fine with AOS 6 it should be ok, but otherwise...

Also, worth noting that it's trivial to convert these APs to IAPs (and even rest-of-world region too if desired). However, the IAP-325s only ever shipped with 512MB of RAM, so the conversions are best done with newer AP-325s.

I can't recall when exactly they upgraded the RAM, but I think you'd want 2017+ ones to be safe. IIRC they switched in maybe late 2016 or something

I've got both 256MB and 512MB AP-325s; the former appear to work fine up until AOS Instant 8.3 or 8.4, but will drop packets (and even clients) if you upload too fast. Newer versions will cause the AP to panic on boot

This is definitely a great deal if the DOM is 2017 and later with 512MB of RAM. Here is the STH thread with discussions and some details about converting to IAP.

I have had a similar problem with a 335.
