Any thoughts on a backend iscsi switch for $1k or less? a used Dell 8024F or a new ES-16-XG

This is a hyperconverged system, 2 servers. either one has enough ports.

If you saw the STH review of the ES-16-XG you will have my thoughts.

FYI

ES-16-XG - SFP+ DAC cable hell - Ubiquiti Networks Community

Current firmware doesn't support DAC very well in ES-16XG.

We will look into it. Please use SFP+ modules for now.

Sorry for the inconvenience."

I've had terrible issues with this switch and Microtek DAC cable.

Mikrotik S+DA0003

It works but only on 3 of the 12 ports. I can take a cable out of a working port and place it into another port and no activity until I plug it right back into one of the 3 ports that seems to work with my DAC.

So I only have 3 ports of the 12 that actually work it appears."

UGH Well that answers that. NO DAC? That's crazy. I'm not sure what happened to Ubiquiti in the last 18 months, but things have gotten ugly. Even the wifi has been extremely hokey.

I have had zero issues with mine so far, using my Add-on DACs.
