There are 5 security vulnerabilities for the dell/wyse 5070 if your bios is less than 1.9.0

Using the dell site, the latest bios listed was 1.9.0
It is really easy to update the bios, at least if you are running windows 10.

Got my 3rd Wyse 5070 which is an extended version. By the way, the default BIOS password of Wyse 5070 was listed on the manual(link).

All are from ebay. I think the total cost lower than $150 that is good for extended. Last year my last extended was 175-180.

Yeah, but I have a nagging suspicion that Dell/Wyse will be introducing a new 5000 series thin client soon - either something Ryzen embedded or something Intel Jasper Lake...perhaps both (5080/90 to replace the 5060/70). Both HP and Igel did theirs. It's probably time for Dell Wyse to move.
Either ways, yeah, I would say 150 will be a good price for the PCIe x4 extended model, and below 120 for the normal model.

Yah! The prices will drop more and it will get closer to upgrade time.

You know I just had an inspiration for a funny commercial video based on the old 'Miller Time' commercials except instead it would be 'Upgrade Time'. :D

Heh. Well, you missed your chance with the t640 a few months back, but who knows...maybe the t540 will show up?

It may not be a deal.

5070 with celeron J4105, 8GB ram as $93.xx with buyer's offer. As my understanding of the page, it may not come with a power adapter. Link as below:

(By the way, I tested 1 of my regular dell laptop ac adapter with 7.4mm connector and 65 watts with my 5070 extended and it works. The 5070 thin version should work too.)

There are also some "open box" but noted as "sealed": 5070 with J4105 and 4gb ram as $99.xx with buyer's offer:

I have a 5070 (j5005) which I am ready to sell...but I first want to clear the disk of any personal data. What is the best way to do this without stressing the eemc memory? Currently it's running Windows 11 (pre-release)....but previously it's run Debian 10.

Got my grubby hands on Wyse 5070 Extended with J5005 (3 dp, 2 serial ports) looking to add a PCIe network card. The first attempt with Broadcom quad gig nic didn't work. Gotten 2-5 orange blinks. On page 4 you shown a functional (I assume) quad ethernet nic - what exact model is it?

a small update: Qlogic branded Broadcom 5709 NetXtreme II Dual Port PCIe - seems to be working and recognized by OPSense on 5070
