For those in the US: $570 + shipping, barebones server. One of the sleds is dinged on the metal edge. claims in working order though (I mean it looks terrible but not functionally impactful). Seems fairly close in value (I figure ~$500 for the 8x 2670 CPUs and ~$200 for 256gb ram + $200 shipping) to the other deal, but available in the US. Listing shows pickup only as shipping but seller lists UPS / fedex available.

Hmm I believe these all have integrated infiniband. I happen to be very near the seller (in south Fremont) though no need for the server right now.

this listing has been up for a bit. have avoided due to the damage of the chassis and that one sled.

Where can I get 256GB ram for $200? I want 16x16GB or 8x32GB. Is that price only for very small modules?

I'm sorry I was using the 8gb modules as example, and not a set deal. Most systems I've seen are typically filled with 8gb modules. I was just trying to compare the price of building out the bare bones to the UK complete system.

Okay I just bought 16x16GB for $350 so I was a bit sad when it's possible to get 256GB for $200 :p

Nice pricing. Anyone know if these guys are crazy loud at idle and full cpu load?
Those 1U huge fans make me think it will sound like a jet at full throttle under load. Only three fans for ~250W TDP makes me think that will scream.

I have the H2312, when you update all the embedded controllers and BIOS the 1U fans themselves are actually ridiculously quiet and sometimes even turn off if you set the BIOS to allow silent mode. At full load yeah they may be loud, haven't tested.

However, the power supplies that came with mine are absolute screamers. 1600W. They were quiet before I updated and now for some reason they're really loud and don't throttle down. I think it has something to do with the other nodes not being plugged in. I haven't gotten to test my hypothesis yet since I need to borrow chips from other builds so that I can update all the nodes and have them all at least plugged in and not necessarily on, that may quell the noise from the PSUs.
