Hi Guys,

What is the verdict on these two? What I'm I going to miss if I take the Unifi 16-XG, anything?

Is Ubiquiti manageable from web or does it require the Ubiquiti controller application?

Seems like 16-XG is considerably cheaper so want to know any gotchas.

Thanks

The 16 xg Had different Problems in the past, some seem to be fixed in the current Firmware.

The newer hardware versions (v12 and above) dont seem to have any compatibility issues on the 10g ethernet ports with my Xeon-D intel cards (x557 and x540). They beta unit I had previously did have issues though.
The unifi controller is required to manage the switch though - i'm not sure if thats a con, I have it running in debian vm for my Access points and this switch.
12 ports vs 12+4 ports is a win for the US-XG-16 - atleast for me.
If you really want something cheap, the Mikrotik CRS317 is another option. 16ports of 10g networking. I'm not certain how well it performs tho, It did have issues initially, but those were largely software based.

EDIT - the Unifi and Mikrotik are L2 switches, Not sure about the D-Link.
