Unrealeased X570D4U-2L2T BIOS Now Supports the 5900xt

Before I had Asrock email me BIOS version L1.79C, I accidently enclosed my 5900xt in it's plastic clamshell in a way that bent the outer pins; so after I painstaking realigned them, I was really crossing my fingers hoping it was post and it did. After reporting the news to William(Server FAE Department), he sent me the latest unrealeased BMC firmware. Both firmware releases are engineer validated, so install them at your own risk.

It's pre-beta but sure. I was backed into a corner having paid well below market value for a cpu in new condition that I almost destroyed. As for everyone else, the aforementioned still stands - use at your own risk.

As for the BMC firmware, I was told by william that it fine tunes the SLL certification, fine tunes chassis ID, fine tunes system inventory information behavior, integrating the CVE-2024-54085 patch, & CPU thermal trip threshold.

what should we wait for ? if it is engineer validated, now waiting for users to find bugs like with ms windows updates ?
it usualy takes a year or so to see them avail. for download officialy. i know what i am talking about.

I mean if you have a cpu thats already supported by older firmware, then I don't see why anyone would install it. I was just suggesting to leave the bug finding for people who need to use this firmware to get there motherboard to post.

good point, if the xt support is the only plus in that BIOS (i doubt)

there are already Vermeer B2 steppings, e.g. 5900X comes in B0 and B2
i don't think you need special BIOS to get the XT working, just latest should be ok.

i would not like to work with BIOS from 2022

Sure, but the 5900xt was released in 2024 and has 16 core/32 threads, hence it'll have completely different cpu id strings/microcode that not even agesa 1.2.0.C will recognize.

in that case 5900X B2 will not work because ASRock Rack did never released non Beta BIOS for it.
5900X B2 is an XT just cores disabled, lower clocks.

Perhaps the P1.70 might support the b2 stepping given it's 1.2.0.7 and the earliest b2 stepping support was featured in agesa 1.2.0.3 patch c.

correct. found that now too. 5700X3D is a Vermeer B2

dozens of security vulnerabilities solved from 2022 till now, but BIOS 1.70 lacks them.
if you ask me all should use 1.78 or 1.79 now.

Don't get me wrong, that’s not great support from ASRock—it’s a disgrace.

Meanwhile, the asus tuff gaming I got for my brother had 5800xt support out of the box. I got the x570 from amazon which must have been old stock, not that they probably made any newer stock since 2021.
