I made a mistake of adding a NIC which was enabled for passthrough to one of the vswitch. Now I'm unable to access the ESXi management.
Tried to removing the NIC but still the same result. Host is setup with static IP.

Connecting directly to the box was not successful. Is there a way to correct this through the console short of resintalling ESXi?

actually it is a 2 port nic which I conveniently forget I cannot enable passthru for just 1 port but the whole card.
For some reason, it did not error when I did that a while back.

Tried to remove the vmnic that was added to the vswitch0 today by going to console. But it did not fix the issue.

esxcli network vswitch standard uplink remove --uplink-name=vmnic --vswitch-name=vSwitch # unlink an uplink

Next I open /etc/vmware/ah-trees.conf to disable the passthru manually but there is no entry except for the HBA card.
