SOLD.

------------

This is pretty much a perfect FreeNAS file server and has been serving as such reliably in my homelab.

Consists of a SC836 case from circa 2008 or so which had everything overhauled a few years back with 4 PIN PWM SuperQuiet fans (FAN-0104L4), a SuperQuiet 920W PSU and Noctua NA-FC1 fan controller.

It's extremely quiet and consumes 65W (no drives), 135W (all drives).
Sound levels are 38dBA at idle.

Specification:
  • Intel Xeon 1220L V2 CPU
  • Supermicro X9SCL+-F Motherboard
  • 1x 920W 1U Redundant Power Supply (PWS-920P-SQ) - case does support dual power supplies but due to the extreme cost of the PSU and the lower power consumption I'm using just one
  • 6x PWM SuperQuiet fans
  • 32GB Crucial ECC DDR RAM (4x 8GB)
  • 7x 3TB Toshiba MG03SCA300 SAS Drives
  • Intel 100GB DC S3700 SSD
  • 2x IBM M1015 / Flashed to LSI 9211-8i
  • Rail Kit
  • 2x Spare Brand NEW SuperMicro FAN-0126L4 80x80x38mm 7000RPM Chassis Fans
  • 2x Supermicro (Gen 4) 3.5" to 2.5" Converter Drive Tray (MCP-220-00043-0N) for SSDs
  • Boxed
  • Screws, cables and accessories included
  • Also includes 2.5" hot swap caddies and brand new spare hot swap fans

Collection preferred from North London, can ship at cost.

No, it's very quiet indeed - I can quantify it in dbA later today. You can also adjust the Noctua fan controller inside the chassis if you want to make it even quieter:

Does it run loud during normal usage?
It's approximately 38dBA at idle from 1 meter away. That's using an iPhone + SPLnFFT (app) to measure.

It's not as quiet as a workstation, but it's almost as quiet as some of the more recent HP DL Proliant servers.

Thanks for the offer, prefer not to break it up for parts just yet. Shipping is approx £45-60.

Did you have a price in mind for the above though?

I’m sure after Brexit your €s will get more £s!

@Saoclyph system has only 9 drives now, we borrowed one to stick in another server. I can always drop a SATA drive in instead so it’ll have 9x SAS and 1x SATA.

I’ll look up shipping to France tonight. Can you PM me your address or something nearby so I can get an accurate quote before letting you know thanks.

750£, but for the whole configuration ?
Apologies for the delay, the weight of the server fully boxed and including 10x drives comes to 45kg. Shipping to France is £208 which makes it uneconomical unfortunately.
