The X10DAX is my first SM board with any Sort of EFI capability. From i can see it doesn't have an EFI like Consumer boards like Asus Or Asrock where i can use the mouse. When i change from Dual to UEFI and reboot it still looks like a Legacy bios. Am i doing the right thing with by changing from Dual to EFI? And question 2 what do i do with the EFI shell? I have a P3700 that i want to load W10 onto.

"Dual" means you can use efi and legacy, you can change the order in bios whats preferred.

Isn't this overkill for an os drive? :D

You need to install Windows in efi mode.
You can do this by creating an installtion usb stick with rufus (choose gpt partition for efi), boot from that stick and install Windows.

I never tried to install windows from an optical drive, can't say if it's possible. I always used an usb stick created with rufus.

I called Supermicro - had a couple of ther questions too. The guy said to leave the Bios in Dual, and just change the PCI slot where the P3700 is in to EFI. That's all that's needed. I'll let you all know if it works.

So just an update - Supermicro Support was wrong when he told me to leave it in Dual Mode - it has to be in EFI for Windows to install onto the P3700. I tried it in dual and Windows would not install.
