Hello,

I’m encountering an issue with my Unifi U7 Pro when connected to a Huraco 2.5Gb switch the same that was reviewd by STH.
Sunday all sudden my Unifi U7 Pro started acting up, wifi on and off, in Unifi console i noticed that the U7 was showing up and then disappear, then adopting. I run a coupe of pings and noticed that the U7 was the only one not responding properly (other devices seemed fine).
Basically the connection becomes unstable, with frequent packet loss (pings timing out). However, when I connect the same U7 Pro to a Unifi U8 switch, the connection is stable, and there are no ping drops. The huraco worked well until Sunday,

Here are some details:

  • The same switch works fine with other devices, like a Windows PC and a VM, where pings are stable.
  • I’ve swapped the cables to rule out cable issues, but the problem persists.
  • What could be causing this issue specifically with the Huraco 2.5Gb switch and U7 Pro? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot further or resolve this?

The switch could be blocking the port due to STP / loop prevention / some weird option. That would be the first place to look for.

I'm pretty sure i have the same issue with a different 2.5Gb switch. I believe the specific port might not support a POE Class6, so either dropping the bandwidth manually to Gbe instead of 2.5 makes the AP Stable. So with this being said I think the U7 APs require class6 POE since they require 60watts. So in short I'm pretty sure you need to plug into a POE++ port and you might only be in a POE+ port instead

Deployed it this morning with uplink to main Aruba switch using DAC cable. Switch is not warm to touch.

Yes it’s does. I have 3 different vlans for Wifi. All passed through without issues.

With the switch, I also bought a usb c hub with 2.5gb rj45 for a Lenovo laptop. Which came with an Ethernet port.

The E7 might be Class 7 devices (I haven't verified but they are listed as PoE++), but the U7 line of devices are not. They top out at 25W (PoE+), not 60W. In practice, my U7 Pro Max draws about 12-13W from my Hasivo switch.
