Typical Data Retention with Power removed... saw this under the Seagate specs for their SSD.

I don't recall spotting it for other SSD, is this common that SSD will only store data for a few months? Seems a bit odd, as that's not been my experience.... is that a SeaGate issue or how they handle their NAND?

This is actually a common industry SSD metric. Actually one of the areas that Violin Memory VIMMs and architecture did very well.

NAND storage is rated at the amount of time it can retain data after power is removed.

Most people on here probably care less about this.

So are you saying you've seen this in each SSD spec-sheet? Man, I must have missed it!!!

I'm just curious because some of my SSD do sit around for a few months, and so far so good :)
