Hello,

I have a Tyan server (B7109F77DV14HR-2T-N) and I've tried recently to update the IPMI interface. The update procedure was interrupted somewhere in the middle and now I'm not able anymore to update the interface (from version 1 to version 6). I always get failures during update, which now I try to apply from command line.
Server still works fine, but after the failed attempt, I've lost completely the IPMI functionality. Is there any known way to forcely flash the update ? or workarounds for failed updates?

I've opened a few months a ticket on Tyan's official support (I'm the happy owner of ticket
100072) but got no answer.

Thanks

Have you tried using the Aspeed SOC Flash utility? It requires booting to Linux/DOS, but you can flash the BMC from inside the OS. I've used it in the past on Tyan boards which had "custom" firmware and I needed to flash the standard BMC firmware.

Look at this post.
