Hi there, first time poster here.

I built a system years ago based off this build Building a 32-Thread Xeon Monster PC for Less Than the Price of a Flagship Core i7

It never ran stable on windows 10 (running Adobe Premiere and Blender primarily), and the startup I built it for had to be shut down. Runs great on Linux.

It's been collecting dust for years and I'm in need of a NAS system to store and edit my video files on. Would love to be able to re-purpose this for the task, but I have very limited knowledge on how to do this and if this would even be a good option for me.

Here is the parts list:

Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro Series
Motherboard: ASRock EP2C602-4L/D16
Processors: (2) Intel® Xeon®E5-2670 2.60 GHz
Cooling: (2) Gamerstorm Captain 120ex Liquid CPU Cooler
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 980ti Hybrid
Memory: Hynix 8x8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM ECC Registered DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Server Memory Model HMT31GR7BFR4A-H9 (128gb)
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250gb
Power Supply: Coolermaster Silent Pro M1000 (1000w)
Sound: ASUS XONAR DG Headphone Amp & PCI 5.1 Audio Card
USB 3.0 - Inateck PCI-E to USB 3.0 (5 Ports) PCI Express Card and 15-Pin Power Connector
RAID Controller - Areca ARC1680ix-8

Any input/advice here is greatly appreciated! I'm looking to use a RAID 5 setup with at least 30TB

Thanks in advance,
Alex
