Hi,

sudo flint -d /dev/mst/mt4117_pciconf0 -i fw-ConnectX4Lx-rel-14_32_1900-MCX4431M-GCA_Bx-UEFI-14.25.17-FlexBoot-3.6.502.bin -allow_psid_change burn
Done.-E- Burning FS3 image failed: No "MFG_INFO" info section.

tried with mstflint also with same error.

Cannot get DPDK software working with the current firmware so Mellanox one would be better.

Thank you, sadly it did not work:

:~/mellanox/firmware$ sudo flint -ocr --nofs -d 5e:00.0 -i fw-ConnectX4Lx-rel-14_32_1900-MCX4431M-GCA_Bx-UEFI-14.25.17-FlexBoot-3.6.502.bin -allow_psid_change burn

-W- Firmware flash cache access is enabled. Running in this mode may cause the firmware to hang.

Done.

Current FW version on flash: N/A

New FW version: 14.32.1900

Burn process will not be failsafe. No checks will be performed.

If this process fails, computer may remain in an inoperable state.

Do you want to continue ? (y/n) [n] : y

-E- Burning FS3 image failed: Cannot integrate device data sections: device data sections are corrupted. please ignore extracting device data sections.

Wondering if should try MCX4431A family cards instead

Got possibly some progress, maybe -ignore_dev_data is needed:

2:~/mellanox/firmware$ sudo flint -d 5e:00.0 -i fw-ConnectX4Lx-rel-14_32_1900-MCX4431M-GCA_Bx-UEFI-14.25.17-FlexBoot-3.6.502.bin -ocr -ignore_dev_data -allow_psid_change -nofs --yes burn

-W- Firmware flash cache access is enabled. Running in this mode may cause the firmware to hang.

Done.

Current FW version on flash: N/A

New FW version: 14.32.1900

Burn process will not be failsafe. No checks will be performed.

ALL flash, including the device data sections will be overwritten.

If this process fails, computer may remain in an inoperable state.

Do you want to continue ? (y/n) [n] : y

-E- Burning FS3 image failed: Cannot burn device data sections, Flash is write protected.

Tried with:

2:~/mellanox/firmware$ sudo flint -d 5e:00.0 -ocr hw set Flash0.WriteProtected=Disabled

-W- Firmware flash cache access is enabled. Running in this mode may cause the firmware to hang.

-E- Unknown option "set" for the "Hw" command. you can use query.

I assume I need to close jumper on board, saw FNP holes on board, will try if that allows flashing

Got flash to work, soldered FNP but still complaining on write protection on flash. Found out that need to use OEM flint to remove write protection. So my soldering was not really needed.

MFT install with --oem switch is needed.

sudo flint -d /dev/mst/mt523_pciconf0 -ocr hw set Flash0.WriteProtected=Disabled
sudo flint -d 5e:00.0 -i ./fw-ConnectX4Lx-rel-14_32_1900-MCX4431M-GCA_Bx-UEFI-14.25.17-FlexBoot-3.6.502.bin -ocr -ignore_dev_data -allow_psid_change -nofs --yes burn

Only broken thing was lack of MAC address on the interface, but can compensate on netplan for that.
