I have a very aged QNAP (TS-639) with 6 x 4TB drives.
I'm also building a Skoolie and plan to work from the road. And an old "spinning disk" NAS and the road don't like each other.
So I'm planning on building a SSD based NAS.
I'd also like it to be beefy enough to run PLEX and do transcoding. 2.5GB or 10GB connectivity.
Anyone have suggestions for:
1) A case with at least 6 2.5" Drive slots?
2) miniITX motherboard with onboard SAS controllers or 10GB NIC's or both?
If I have to move up into a mATX case, I have some options around that using the: ICY Dock ExpressCage MB326SP-B
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B01M0BIPYC/ and using a decent HBA like a "LSI SAS 9300-8i" or similar.
