TrueCrypt External Drive Encryption

Just read Patrick's article and it got me thinking about using it on my flash drives for work.

If i create a Regular TrueCrypt (TC) NTFS partition do i need to have TC installed on the system to use the partition?
If i create a Hidden TrueCrypt (TC) NTFS partition do i need to have TC installed on the system to use the partition?
Can this be setup to where IT does the initial provisioning and the USER has to change the password?

You need to play with this. I am sure that TrueCrypt does more than I have done with it.
