Np. Totally understand. With multiple conversations going on, it can be difficult to track who is doing what.
I continue to stress test my KingNovy N6005. It continues to perform well, without re-greasing the heat sink.
Here I have just begun another hour long stress test. Notice the initial temperature spike corresponds to the boosted cpu speed of ~3MHz.
Within less than a minute, the OS settles on a clock speed of ~1900MHz and temperatures settle down accordingly. This screenshot is at 16 minutes into the test, and we have reached a steady state temp of 59C.
Unsurprisingly, the cpu is unable to stay at boosted speeds for very long. I don't really need a fan, but just for science I've got a 5V 120mm Nocuta fan on order. I'll place that on top of the unit, just to see how that affects this test.
Another upcoming test will be to move this device into my rack, which sits at a toasty 84 deg F.
Lastly, I have verified the issues I have run into while using pfSense 2.7 snapshot, are known issues with the snapshot. They were not a result of the hardware.
With my experience, even a slight breeze across the top of the unit will drastically lower temps.
Yup that's the same unit I got. Seems quite good so far with mods (I documented this a few pages back) and plan on putting into use as a OPNSense firewall at home this weekend.

Our team ordered the J6412 and J6413 back in August. I had to ping them again, and they FINALLY shipped, even paying for DHL. Looks like they gave an "upgrade" of a J6412->J6413. Very annoying since I wanted to have both.
Looking forward to the review! You wouldn't be testing the Ryzen 5600U/5800U/5825U i226 based devices anytime soon by any chance?? I'm waiting for someone to give some feedback on those boxes before I take the plunge . . .

The use N5100 use a lower TDP . so it become not so hot as a N5105.

No worries - I have a j4125 unit with i225 since May running under Proxmox - fun stuff!! Then I needed another box and started looking at the N5105/N6005 units - then the 1135G7/1165G7s
but once I saw the Ryzen 5825U rated @ 15W but 8 cores and 16 threads it made me think about what else I could do besides just a virtual OPNSense box That kind of power with 4 x 2.5G NICs and NVME storage options would make a great home lab server . . . . Greets from Germany!I'm on the edge kernel and have never experienced any crashes. I'm going to try this version though as I'd prefer to be on a stable kernel. I need to look into the microcode updates. Have never done one yet.
