Hey all!
This is a little unorthodox, but I'm deploying this Proxmox cluster out to a remote site in a few months and wanted to show y'all what I've been working on. The site doesn't have many employees, so really no need for a set of large servers. The idea here is to use the Tinys for compute and we're using an existing SAN for shared storage. If more computing resources are needed, add more to the cluster! Scaling out, not up. Not that these are slouches by any means, the CPU actually outperforms the current EPYC CPUs in the current systems by around 2.5x in synthetic benchmarks.
Specs:
Model: Lenovo Tiny P3 Gen 5
CPU: i9-13900 (24 core / 32 thread)
RAM: 96GB DDR5
Storage: 2x2TB NVMe SSDs with DRAM
Network: CX6 25GbE
They've been outfitted with my Untrusted Source gear. Notably, the fan shroud dropped the network card from 99c (I stopped letting it climb when I saw it hit this temp) down to a steady 65c in a 21c ambient room. In production they will sit in a 18c room, so hopefully an even better drop in temp.
For out-of-band management they have the Intel vPro. We have a cluster of M80Q Gen 5 in another site with moderate specs that have been running 24/7 for almost a year with zero issues, and we can easily manage the hardware via vPro.
Pictures:

I forgot to take a picture of the power brick, but it's almost the same size as the Tiny. Rated for 300w.
Testing will commence soon on performance with the SAN.
I was wondering, is there any tests the community would like to see, such as CEPH, Linbit, CPU benchmarks, etc?
