Nothing comes to mind. I'm guessing you're using the external SAS ports from the Tintri nodes (since they all show the same scbus0 with different target #'s)? Is it the same for either of the 2 nodes in the chassis? I haven't done enough diagnostics with the Linux command line sas tools to give any better clues on what to look for. Something with the sg3 utils possibly, maybe that would give more info on what type of enclosure it's picking up.

There does seem to be some "secret sauce" that the Tintri OS was doing to switch the drives from one node to the other, and I don't know if the external SAS ports are also going to be in that same category where you just never know which node is going to be dealing with which ports at any given time.

I tried in vain to figure it out based on the drivers that the Tintri OS loads for that PEX 8732 but besides a little bit of investigation, I didn't get too far into it to see if I could possibly get that working under any other OS (Debian based or whatever else).

All I really know for sure is that Windows in general chokes big time on the SAS3008 adapter with any kind of expander, but Linux (including Truenas fortunately) is just fine with it.

I've got the chance to pick up a tintri EC6070 pretty cheap as it has no OS on it. Do you know if these run the normal tintri OS or where I could possible find it without going through the pain of support? I'm tempted to pick it up to see if I can get it working again.

Even with the TXOS download, there's no real way I could find to rebuild the boot from scratch. I tried using a bootable USB repair option but I never did get that working either.

I don't know specifically about that EC6070 model and what kind of hardware it's using under the hood, but you may have luck installing Windows or Linux on there like I was on the T5000 series, I just could never get any kind of clustering to work since that particular feature seems to be tied to the Xybridge specific functions and must need the custom drivers that the Tintri OS uses.
