As far as i know, there are some epyc motherboard can supported Threadripper Pro.Some dual 3995WX are on epyc motherboard. It looks like all motherboard which supported 7002/7003 are all supported Threadripper Pro.Such as ASUS KRPA-U16/GIGABYTE MZ31-AR0/TYAN S8030GM2NE/ASRock ROMED8-2T.And there are some server system supported.Such as SuperMicro 4124GS-TNR/GIGABYTE MZ92 FS0/TYAN B8252/Inventec Horsea. There are many photos for Threadripper Pro on EPYC server motherboard.I want to know how to achieve?Add microcode into bios to made custom bios or the other way?

You means we can run Threadripper Pro on EPYC motherboard without any modify?
of course not in any case: means the issue is NOT a missing MC.
AGESA may different, you have to use older BIOS e.g.
you miss outputs (PCH missing)

of course no: means the issue is NOT a missing MC.
there is a different pinout(almost same but some reserved may grounded by one vendor but other not)
AGESA may different, you have to use the oldest i.e.
different pin functions like the 7D13 problem.
It seems that there is no change in the hardware, only the BIOS has been modified. However, the oldest version of agesa BIOS often does not have new microcode.

interesting
AFAIK h12dsg(all x12/h12) BIOS does not work after BIOS modding(x12 digitaly signed/ CPLD, h12 some security mechanism)

have checked oldest BIOSs. 830F10 is there.
Thank you for your reply. But in picture we can see 3995wx is running on SuperMicro H12DSG,so it without any modify ?
What about ASUS/TYAN/GIGABYTE?

yes, but imho not with latest BIOS. latest BIOS/AGESA ?
note BIOS on x12/h12 can not downgraded with IPMI/SUM.efi but flashed with programmer.
unless the dig.sign is healthy the system works.
What about ASUS/TYAN/GIGABYTE?
ASUS/Gigabyte can be modded and flashed with programmer (if required)
Tyan is easy.

So in supermicro motherboard we can run Threadripper Pro on it with oldest BIOS without modify. And ASUS/GIGABYTE/TYAN we need use oldest BIOS add new microcode and then flashed with programmer.Am I right?
Can we use this logic in reverse? EPYC run on WRX80 motherboard.

looks like at least for the H12DSG, note as a end customer you can't buy only this board.

never sayd that. the microcode is there(same than rome) and if you need to modd anything you may have to use a programmer.

OKOK,use programmer to flash is easy for me but mod bios is diffculty.

I wouldn't be surprised if it has something to do with the VRM current limit either.
we have something like that with the intel LGA3647 platform.
CPU don't work its TDC is 255A but VRM ICC_MAX is 228A.

I think some motherboard doesn't have VRM current limit.Because 7773x is also 280W TDP.

i don't talkabout TDP limit.
LGA3647 185W not working(TDC255A) but 205W CPU working because TDC=228A (VRM ICC_MAX=228A)
we will see.

The TDC is limited by VRM controller or BIOS?I think they can't modify VRM controller.

they ?
i modd VRM all the day to make TDC=255A processors work.
there is a 3pin connector (or just 3 holes in the pcb) routed to the VRM controller on most boards.
most VRM controller understand PMBus protocoll to adjust work-parameters. i can set new ICC_MAX and store into NVMEM.
after that the board accepts processors with up to 255A TDC values.
I found that a seller was selling threadripper 5995wx ES and provided Tyan S8030GM2NE BIOS to fit this CPU. Therefore, it is inferred that there is no need to modify VRM controller program.
